Energy Savings

Smart homes have become increasingly popular, offering convenience and automation at the touch of a button. Beyond the luxury, however, lies a significant benefit: energy savings. By integrating smart technology, homeowners can optimize their energy consumption, reduce their carbon footprint, and ultimately save money on their utility bills.

How Smart Homes Save Energy

  • Intelligent Automation: Smart home devices can automatically adjust settings based on real-time conditions and occupancy patterns. For example, smart thermostats can learn your preferences and adjust temperature accordingly, while smart lights can turn off when rooms are unoccupied.
  • Remote Monitoring and Control: Smart home apps allow you to monitor energy usage from anywhere. This empowers you to identify areas of inefficiency and make informed adjustments.
  • Integration with Renewable Energy: Smart homes can seamlessly integrate with renewable energy sources like solar panels, optimizing their use and maximizing energy savings.
  • Demand Response Programs: Our smart home systems is capable of scanning your electricity rates, so that your heating, hot water, and even washing, are done at the cheapest times of the day, saving you money without you having to think about it!.

These are the electric bills of one of our customer in Jun and July 2024, showing their energy bills were only 14p/kWh instead of the standard price in their area, which is 24p/kWh. This translated to over 40% reduction in their energy cost, which is a great reduction considering this customer does not have solar panels or batteries (the reduction achieved with solar panels and batteries can be much higher):

The same customer just sent us their latest bill and we can´t even believe it. Despite having guests and using more energy, they actually saved an extra £14 compared to last month. That’s a whopping 68% reduction, going from the standard 24p/kWh to just 7.49p/kWh. They told us “This month our smart home tech saved us £135. It’s paying for itself even faster than we anticipated!”.

Additional Tips for Maximizing Energy Savings

  • Set Smart Schedules: Program your smart devices to adjust settings based on your daily routine and preferences.
  • Utilize Energy-Efficient Appliances: Combine smart technology with energy-efficient appliances for maximum savings.
  • Monitor Energy Consumption: Regularly track your energy usage to identify areas for improvement.

Conclusion

By embracing smart home technology, you can unlock significant energy savings while enjoying the benefits of a more convenient and efficient lifestyle. With intelligent automation, remote monitoring, and integration with renewable energy, smart homes offer a sustainable and cost-effective solution for modern living.
